Srabanti Chakraborty viral link leaked video, Indian actress, former journalist at ABP News

Srabanti Chatterjee’s affiliation with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in March, shortly before the West Bengal assembly elections earlier this year, marked a notable development in the political landscape.

This move was part of a series of high-profile signings from both ends of the political spectrum.A prominent figure in the Bengali film industry, Srabanti Chatterjee, announced her decision to sever all connections with the BJP. Her discontent with the party’s operations in West Bengal led her to take this drastic step. Srabanti pointed out the “lack of proactivity and dedication” displayed by the BJP concerning the state’s well-being as the primary reason for her departure. She candidly expressed her sentiments on Twitter, stating, “I hereby disassociate myself from the BJP, the party I ardently supported during the last state elections. The rationale behind this decision lies in their apparent deficiency of initiative and earnestness in championing the cause of Bangladesh…”It is worth noting that Srabanti Chatterjee’s initial foray into the BJP occurred in March, just before the West Bengal assembly elections, as part of a broader wave of high-profile political entries. Her induction took place in the presence of then Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh and the party’s state election officer, Kailash Vijayvargiya. However, her electoral bid in the Behala Paschim constituency ended in disappointment as she was defeated by the Trinamool’s Chatterjee, trailing by a substantial margin of 50,884 votes. In the lead-up to the elections, a noteworthy development was the entry of a dozen TV and film actors, individuals hitherto uninvolved in politics, into the saffron camp. Despite these notable recruits, the BJP managed to secure only 77 of the state’s 294 assembly seats.Subsequently, with Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress clinching a resounding victory in the state elections, the BJP found itself without any prominent figures ready to join their ranks for the forthcoming assembly elections scheduled in March and April. Consequently, many of the party’s prominent personalities either withdrew from the limelight or distanced themselves.A senior figure within the Bengal BJP acknowledged that individuals like Srabanti Chatterjee, Payal Sarkar, and Tanushree had been conspicuously absent from the BJP’s activities over the past few months. Moreover, individuals who straddle the realms of both acting and politics, such as Chakraborty and Yash Dasgupta, faced electoral defeat. In a similar vein, two other actors from the Bengali television and film industry, Rupa Bhattacharjee and Anindya Banerjee, disclosed in August that they had disentangled themselves from the BJP. Several other celebrated actors have also started to create a divide between themselves and the BJP, as noted by party insiders. The political landscape witnessed another significant transformation with the departure of Bollywood singer and politician Babul Supriyo from the BJP. Having triumphed twice in securing a Lok Sabha seat and serving as a Union minister of state, he switched allegiances and joined the Trinamool last month.
