Forthsky Padrigao scandal twitter video leaked, From adversity to accountability
“I won’t justify that I was young back then, but I truly made a mistake,” confessed Foschi Padrego. “I was careless.
I didn’t think about whether it was right or wrong. I’m deeply remorseful,” he added, his gaze downcast, his fingertips lightly touching, as if a chastened child, seeking forgiveness. After enduring months of unrelenting silence amid public scrutiny, the former Ateneo Blue Eagles star has chosen to share his reflections on the private video controversy. He openly acknowledges that his past actions have caused direct or indirect harm to certain individuals. During his final season with the UAAP men’s basketball team, merely uttering Padrego’s name on the court sparked a commotion of unprecedented magnitude. One sports channel even refrained from mentioning his name, simply referring to him as the “Ateneo point guard” when he ventured into the realm of online football. In a fast-break play, his on-court rival, LJ Gonzales, aided FEU in securing its initial victory in UAAP Season 86 and averting defeat against Ateneo. The controversial star defender, Forthsky Padrigao, has extended his apologies for an unspecified “mistake,” which occurred in the wake of his academic suspension and subsequent departure from the Ateneo Blue Eagles. Notably, Lisa Frankenstein, starring Liza Soberano, is scheduled to premiere in February 2024. Lisa joins the ensemble cast of this Hollywood production, alongside Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse.Padrigao expressed, “This move I made transcends basketball. I want to mend myself,” as he consented to an exclusive interview with Rappler.Recognizing the imprudent choices he made during his youth with certain friends, Padrego doesn’t anticipate an immediate transformation. Nevertheless, he aspires to use his desire to rectify past misjudgments, which he once considered “cool,” as a catalyst for tangible progress towards becoming a person he can admire. In late July, Padrego publicly declared his departure from Ateneo, where he contributed to both the youth and senior teams, leading them to their fourth title during the Tab Baldwin era, in his debut season as a starting player. His decision followed Ateneo’s ruling that he was ineligible to compete in the upcoming season due to a narrowly missed qualifying point index (QPI), a requirement for university student-athletes participating in the UAAP.The emerging junior underwent a period of absence from Blue Eagles’ offseason games, providing the public with a glimpse of his future. As a former student of Ateneo Zamboanga, Padrego initially aspired to complete his education at Loyola Heights but eventually experienced a sense of detachment. He stated, “I left because I yearned for a fresh start, a novel environment where I could refine my skills and personal growth.”Padrigao conceded that the relentless public criticism had taken a toll on him, leading to an inability to focus on UAAP training and an overall discomfort with attending school, culminating in his deliberate absence from classes to find solace in solitude. He stressed, “I have no issues with my coach or teammates.” Currently, the 21-year-old dedicates most of his time to training with True Focus, a local basketball development program, to maintain his fitness.Numerous college programs have expressed interest in his transfer. There was even consideration of a contract offer from a professional basketball team in Asia; however, this interest waned after a closer examination of his status.Padrego concluded, “I want to improve myself first before committing to anything else. It’s important to me that I learn from my mistakes and strive to rebuild from there.”
